Regional Homelessness Strategy
The first West Midlands Regional Homelessness Strategy was commissioned to inform the development of the Regional Housing Strategy and was published in 2005. Since that time, the Regional Homelessness Strategy Implementation Group (RHSIG) has worked continuously to encourage local authorities and other relevant organisations to adopt the Strategy's recommendations and thereby reduce homelessness across the Region.

However, new trends in homelessness have emerged since 2005 and the RHSIG carried out a refresh of the original Strategy in 2008, to ensure that the Region continues to make an effective response.

The RHSIG has been successful in engaging a wide range of partners and the current membership is cross-sectoral, including strong representation from local authorities, the Third sector, commissioners, training providers and from the broader Regional partnerships on Health and Ex-Offenders.
