A Guide to the Delivery of Affordable Housing in the West Midlands

A Guide to the Delivery of Affordable Housing in the West Midlands was officially launched by Cllr John Lines (Chairman of the Regional Housing Executive / Birmingham CC) on Thursday 16 November 2006 at Birmingham Council House. The Guide was produced by a region-wide group of local authorities and other housing bodies, to specifically assist Elected Members who hold a Housing, Planning or Regeneration Portfolio to deliver increased rates of Affordable housing, although it is hoped that Housing and Planning Officers will also find the Guide of use.

The Guide includes information on a wide range of policy tools and provides examples of good practice from both urban and rural authorities and from authorities in other regions of England. Advice around 'Affordable Living', including energy efficiency and the development of Sustainable Housing developments are also explored.
