Tatiana Panteli, EU Connects Manager
Tatiana has extensive experience in EU-funded projects since 2006: she has been involved in the management, coordination and evaluation of several successful projects at National, Regional and EU levels under the Lifelong Learning and EQUAL initiatives. Tatiana also worked in the field of research (at Research House) and project evaluation for SMEs, private and public bodies and Associations developing finance strategies, business planning, delivering workshops and training and conferences. She is also a member of 'Decentralised and Intelligent Energy Services' network in the UK.

Jo Sartori, PR and Marketing Officer
Jo graduated from the University of Manchester in 2007 with a 2:1 BA (Hons) in Economics and Social Sciences, majoring in Politics. She has been PR and Marketing Officer for EU Connects since December 2007 and during that time has set up the EU Connects brand, organised bid writing and application workshops, assisted projects to find European partners and been on a Transversal Study Visit. Previous experience has included events management and PR, working within the private sector.

Abdul Qadir, Lifelong Learning Funding Advisor
Abdul has worked in project development and support across a number of EU funding programmes for the last 10 years, at ECOTEC. Recently Abdul managed the Employability strand of the European Social Fund Equal programme that sought to assist disadvantaged develop the skills and qualifications to enter to be retained within the labour market. Abdul as also worked as an expert for the European Commission on Data Collection, Partnership working and Empowerment.

Katherine Shepherd, Intelligent Energy Europe and LIFE+ Funding Advisor
Katherine has a background in sustainable energy technologies and policy developed from a BSc Environmental Sciences specialising in energy, and a MSc Environmental Technology and energy policy from Imperial College London. Employment with a green electricity company and later with regional climate change agency Marches Energy Agency as project manager enabled her to translate this into practice. At MEA (where she still works part time) she gained extensive experience in developing and delivering EU projects, including as a lead partner, in all IEE programme areas. Katherine is also a member of the Energy Institute.

Ewa Bloch, Competitiveness and Innovation Funding Advisor
(P/T Mon - Wed)
Ewa Bloch has over 10 years of experience in the identification, design, implementation and evaluation of EU- and other donor-funded projects in the fields of regional and local economic development, knowledge economy, lifelong learning, employment and social inclusion. She has worked in several international consultancy firms, and she has been involved in technical assistance and training projects that have helped organisations prepare and apply for EU funding.

Stephen Fox, Rural Bidding Champion
Stephen Fox has previously been a civil servant with the Scottish Government with extensive experience in EU agricultural, rural, regional and European policies. He also worked for the European Commission in Brussels and as adviser to the Swedish and Czech Governments, as well experience in the private sector as a consultant leading on EU bids. He has direct experience in delivering INTERREG bids and projects. His role at EU Connects is to increase the capacity of organisations in the rural parts of West Midlands to bring forward and bid successfully for EU trans- national programmes.

Dr. Julia Buckley (nee Speht), EU Connects Manager (Currently on Maternity Leave until July 2010)
Manager since 2007, Julia previously worked as a European officer in local government initiating over 20 EU projects in 3 years; as a lecturer and researcher on EU politics in academia, and as a policy advisor in the European Parliament for 5 years. From 2008 she became an assessor for the Leonardo da Vinci programme for the UK and successfully bid for £1.5M to continue and expand the work of this team.
