Environment and Protecting Nature

Scope: Funding supports the implementation of policy and legislation on nature and biodiversity. Nature projects contribute to the protection of habitat, and developing wider European networks. Biodiversity projects should contribute to halting the loss of biodiversity by 2010 and beyond. Other environmental projects which have added measurable social and economic benefits also qualify.

Grant: 50% funded (although 75% funding for high priority projects such as habitat) and project size approximately €1 million.

EU partner required: None required, however chances of success are increased if one or more European partners are included.

Timing: Annual deadline usually in September
