UK Climate Projections (UKCP09)
The UK Climate Projections have been created to help the UK to plan for a changing climate. The Projections contain information on observed and future climate change, based on the latest scientific understanding.
Regional key findings are that the summer average temperature will see significant increases over the decades. Rainfall could see significant summer decreases and significant winter increases. There will be key impacts across a range issues including the built environment, natural environment and biodiversity, water availability and flooding agriculture and infrastructure. A PowerPoint presentation (ppt, 4MB) which sets out the regional context is available.
The Assembly is supporting the work of local authorities as part of the Regional Climate Change Panel and the development of regional adaptation projects.
Full results including regional information is available on the UKCP09 website
