Welcome to the West Midlands Regional Assembly's Website

More than five million people live in the West Midlands - a region at the heart of the UK. The West Midlands Regional Assembly is committed to working to maximise economic, social and environmental well-being and quality of life for all of these people, now and in the future.

We believe that the best route to achieve this is through sustainable development that strives to achieve thriving, inclusive communities, enhances and protects the environment, ensures prudent and efficient use of natural resources and delivers a flourishing and diverse regional economy.

This commitment is expressed through the Regional Sustainable Development Framework and the Regional Concordat which provides a framework for partnership working between regional organisations and for the integration of regional strategies. The Regional Spatial Strategy provides the detail of policies to ensure that physical development in the region will deliver renaissance for both urban and rural communities in the West Midlands.
